Thank you for your patience. Between Hurricane Florence and awaiting final word on the possible MLK pool closure, we were greatly delayed in scheduling classes. Below are dates for the next Resident class:
The class will run beginning Monday, April 1 and conclude on Saturday, April 13.
Class meeting times are 6:30- 8:30 PM weekdays and 10 am- noon on Saturdays.
The specific class dates are;
April 1, 2. 3, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 13.
Please note that the first week and second week have one differing day of the week- pool schedule did not allow for a Thursday evening of that week.
What is the difference between a Resident class, a morning class and a vacation class?
A Vacation class is a condensed version of the Beginner class. It is 16 hours of instruction but done over a Tuesday through Saturday morning. It is designed for those who are traveling to Charleston to take the class or who have flexibility with work schedules. It is perfect for those who are retired as well.
A Resident class is designed for those who work traditional hours and are only able to take the class in the evenings. We run a schedule for two consecutive weeks of Monday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings and Saturday morning. This format allows students to work all day and overcome their fear of water and learn to swim in the evenings.
A Morning class is designed for those who may be retired or have work flexibility. In same cases, students who prefer not to drive at night will take this class format. We hold class Monday through Thurday mornings. 10 am- noon for two consecutive weeks.
Either format is the same instruction, simply spaced differently to give students options and make SwimCalm accessible for as many as possible
Drop-in Refresher for local students who have taken the Beginner course. Below are available dates. Come in on YOUR schedule, when you are able. All sessions $30.
SwimCalm will be scheduling Drop-in Refreshers soon!
